The fan’s favorite 2021 Toyota Hilux is set to go into production later this year with sales beginning in early 2021. The Hilux truck is a highly reliable and robust vehicle that has made a name for itself over the years. However, this year it seems Hilux will share its looks with its relative the Toyota Tacoma.
Both the trucks have a different design philosophy but Toyota has decided to bring the Hilux much close to the Tacoma in terms of looks. Milele Motors, an export company, recently released photos of the Toyota Hilux claiming it as the 2021 model. If the photos are true we are set to see a Toyota Hilux get a wide Tacoma style grille. The mid-vents are slightly different but they are only evident on closer inspection. The headlights are surrounded by a black tint much like what we see in the Tacoma.
Toyota will reportedly offer two headlight options with the lower trim Hilux getting a halogen/LED option and the premium trim getting full LED lights. The taillights have also been upgraded in tandem with the other features of the truck.
The Japanese automaker likes to make things interesting for their customers and as such, they will be offering striking colors such as orange, blue, bronze, and red. That will be on top of the base colors already offered.
The 2021 Toyota Hilux face-lift, according to rumors, might get to share a platform with Tacoma and Tundra. If the rumors pan out then we could see more similarities between the different trucks offered by Toyota. Recently, Toyota introduced its TNGA platform to reduce cost and simplify the production of its vehicles, so it would not be a surprise if they think the same for their pickup truck lineup.
Given all of the information above, nothing is yet confirmed until Toyota makes an official announcement on the features and the final release date of the 2021 Toyota Hilux.
