The new Audi A9 Concept teased

The Audi A9 concept was developed at Audi’s styling centre in Ingolstadt and was supervised by the recently-appointed chief designer Marc Lichte.

The A9 concept will preview the company’s new design language which will be adopted on future production vehicles. The tendency is to give the upcoming car models a sportier look.

Details are limited at the moment, but the range topper will probably be underpinned by the same MLB Evo rear-wheel drive platform as the next generation Audi A8 which is scheduled to be unveiled in 2016.

A production version of the Audi A9 concept will reportedly hit the assembly line sometime in 2017, followed by a more powerful variant, the Audi S9, sporting a 4.0-litre V8 twin turbocharged engine that will generate 600 hp. A hybrid version could also be made available.
